The crawler log
This site keeps a separate log of requests from identified automated agents, such as search engine crawlers, AI assistants and social media link previews. It records the agent name, the IP address, the page requested and the time. The IP address is used only to check that a bot claiming to be, for example, Googlebot really comes from Google. Requests from ordinary browsers are not written to this log, and entries are deleted automatically after the retention window.
Advertising and analytics
Where advertising appears on RecipePlot, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies allows it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.
Where analytics are enabled, they are used in aggregate to understand which pages are read. The tools in use are listed in the cookie policy.
